Breweries are seen to be male dominated, but women have become a highlight in the beer crafting industry and revolutionized how this profession is seen today. With the help of organizations such as the Pink Boots Society, women are now able to showcase their crafting talents with the help of other empowering women in the industry.
The Pink Boots Society was created to assist, inspire and encourage women beer industry professionals to advance their careers through education. Their focus is to create a space where women teach and help each other to advance their beer careers, such as raising money for educational scholarships.
Flying Dog Brewery and the Pink Boots Society are excited to announce their third year International Women’s Day celebration! Both have come together to brew a new beer made only by women. Last year Flying Dog decided to create an unfiltered kettle sour with additions of lime and cranberry. This year they decided on an India Pale Lager they’re calling “Tenacious V”, which combines the beautiful hoppiness of an IPA with the crisp, clean finish of a lager. It’s perfect for hop heads and those who are just getting into craft beer.
To celebrate the new release Flying Dog and the Pink Boots Society will be hosting a release party for Tenacious V India Pale Lager! This event will be held on April 19th 2019 at Flying Dog Brewery. Proceeds from the sale of the beer will benefit the Pink Boots Society scholarship fund. Admission is free and all attendees must be 21 and over. Be sure to check out the VIP hour details. VIP guests will have the opportunity to hear from women in the Maryland brewing industry, including Emily Bobotas, Quality Assurance Manager from Flying Dog Brewery, Sarah Healey, Marketing Manager at Milkhouse Brewery, and Hollie Stephensen from Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore.
Mark the date on your calendar and be ready to celebrate with live music, food, and vendors!
