We are excited to announce we will be taking on a Sass intern this summer!

Sass Magazine (Frederick, MD) is a women’s lifestyle and professional magazine in the western Maryland and surrounding regions. With creativity at our core, our goal is to drive progress within our community and inspire women to explore and celebrate their own personal style and accomplishments in all aspects of their lives.

We are currently looking for a part-time summer intern to help with various web and print magazine duties. This is an unpaid position and/or for credit only, and is a great opportunity for someone interested in getting behind-the-scenes of a local publication.

We value teamwork, attention to detail, efficiency and above all else, a passion for providing resources to the women of the Greater Frederick area!

Position: Summer Intern for Sass Magazine

Sass Magazine seeks an energetic, organized, detail-oriented and creative individual to join our team. The Sass Intern reports to the owner and publisher of Sass Magazine, as well as the digital director and Sass administrator. This position is ideal for a college-aged individual or recent graduate.

The role requires interaction with Sass advertisers, readers and local community members, so strong customer service and communication skills are a must. Additionally, we are a dog-friendly office, so a love of animals is important as well.

This is a part-time position based in our historic downtown Frederick, Maryland office. The position is slated for 10 weeks (June, July and early to mid August), ranging from 10-15 hrs per week.


•    create content and post on social media accounts
•    interact with followers
•    promote giveaways and Sass advertisers

•    manage Pinterest account
•    help organize and brainstorm content
•    research content sharing options
•    sort through web article ideas (from SEO assessment)

•    help with magazine distribution and subscriptions
•    organize Spotlight nominations
•    event planning
•    attend/work events
•    attend Sass meetings
•    assist on photoshoots
•    help coordinate sources
