Position: Fall Intern for Sass Magazine
Sass Magazine seeks an energetic, organized, detail-oriented and creative individual to join our team. The Sass Intern reports to the owner and publisher of Sass Magazine, as well as the digital director and Sass administrator. This position is ideal for a college-aged individual or recent graduate.
The role requires interaction with Sass advertisers, readers and local community members, so strong communication and writing skills are a must. Our ideal candidate would be familiar with Mac computers and have a basic knowledge of Photoshop and WordPress. (We’re happy to teach, but require quick learners!) Copy editing experience and an eye for good design is also a plus! Additionally, we are a dog-friendly office, so a love of animals is important as well.
As our intern, you will be a representative of what Sass stands for. Read through our print magazines and website before applying and familiarize yourself with our tone and audience.

“I’ve had experience with magazine publication on my college campus, but being privy to the workings of a new publication with a high readers’ base was invaluable to me. I really enjoyed having the freedom to be creative with my pitch ideas, with coordinating sources, even with my captions for Facebook posts. I always want to learn more about everything there is to be learned, so being able to pick up new skills (such as Photoshop and Mailchimp) was really appreciated. It was such a wide array of experiences, I was never bored; no one day was alike. On top of that, I was able to forge connections with some really down-to-earth, amazing women, which was just awesome in itself alone. Everyone in the office is super friendly and dedicated to their work, and it was great getting to work in tandem with them. 10/10 would recommend to aspiring interns!”
