This year, the Oscar’s Red Carpet was on fire. So many hits and so little misses—style wise that is! But the go-to look of the night was a throwback to Old Hollywood Glam. Stunning gowns covered in fringe, beading and feathers rocked the Red Carpet. Soft waves and crimson lips completed the looks of some stunning leading ladies. These ladies definitely showed us why they are Stars! Here’s our Sass Fashion Editor’s top picks of the night!
Emma WAS the epitome of GLAM. From her flapper style golden gown, to her soft, brushed out waves, everything about Emma’s look was perfect. She also gets major points for pulling off a color that could have TOTALLY washed her out.
Taraji P. Henson
I don’t think Taraji could have picked a better dress to perfectly show off her KILLER body. The classic silhouette of this Alberta Ferretti dress has us dreaming of Marilyn Monroe. The choice of velvet added the perfect unexpected touch to the look. She finished the look with the perfect amount of bling from Nirav Modi.
Bling? CHECK. Fringe? CHECK. Shoulder Fringe? DOUBLE CHECK! Who knew a dress would ever have us dreaming of shoulder fringe? This gown is honestly wedding goals. She kept the look more simple by pulling her hair back and featuring her eyes with a purple smokey look.
This Versace gown is STUNNING on Halle! From fringe that looks like feathers to the sparkly gold color that makes her skin glow, this was an amazing look for her. The only major misstep for me was her hair. While her natural curls are TO DIE FOR, I think they fought for attention taking away from the dress.
It’s no wonder why Nicole is Red Carpet Royalty. She has been killing it for years and this look is no exception. The stunning beading and nude color of this Armani gown brought all eyes to Kidman. She popped this monotone look with some bright red lipstick and gorg rosy cheeks.
This BEYOND AMAZING Oscar de la Renta gown slayed the Red Carpet. The classic vixen silhouette showed off her stunning curves. The ruffles were the perfect amount of drama without being too over the top. I love the updated waves—they almost have a wet look, which is totally huge now.
